The Soul of Tina – A Tribute to Tina Turner
Five Decades of Music History
Passion, sex appeal, a hot temper and a voice full of charisma – these are the attributes that make Tina Turner, grande dame of the music industry, unique. Songs like "A Fool in Love" or "Nutbush City Limits" made her and her husband Ike Turner famous. After their separation and the end of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, Tina Turner began to climb the heights of musical fame as a solo artist. Hits like "What's Love Got To Do With It", "Typical Male", "Addicted To Love" and many others made her into the "Queen of Rock'n'Roll", one of the most successful singers in the world.
The Soul of Tina honours a great artist. This tribute show presents the very best from a career spanning more than 50 years – from the beginnings of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, with songs such as "River Deep Mountain High" and "Proud Mary", to her unforgettable solo hits, including "Simply The Best" and "Private Dancer". The singer Tess D. Smith, who first rose to fame as frontwoman of "The Commodores", brings these hits to the stage, embodying the extraordinary and powerful woman that is Tina Turner – authentically, passionately, in an explosive live performance.
